Real Betis close deal for 2nd Leeds United star | OneFootball

La Liga outfit Real Betis have wrapped up an agreement for a high-profile new addition to the club’s defensive ranks.

That’s according to transfer insider Matteo Moretto, who points towards Diego Llorente as the player in question.

Stopper Llorente, for his part, is fresh off a season-long loan stint in Italy, where he played a central role for Serie A giants AS Roma.

With the Giallorossi having opted against making his signing permanent, however, the door was opened for rival suitors to enter the fray.

And, as alluded to above, this weekend, one such club have sealed a deal with Llorente’s parent club, Leeds United.

As per Matteo Moretto:

‘Real Betis has just closed the signing of Diego Llorente.’

The transfer will see the Verdiblancos brass fork over an altogether reasonable €3 million to their Leeds counterparts, marking the 2nd deal between the clubs this summer after Marc Roca’s move to the Estadio Benito Villamarín was made permanent.

Llorente is now expected to put pen to paper on a four-year contract with Betis, whose ‘project’ proved the most convincing of the many clubs to have made contact regarding his services.
