Real Betis have reportedly agreed a new deal with Manchester United over the terms of Antony’s sell-on clause.
United were poised to receive a 50 percent cut of any fee for the Brazilian in the future.
The Spanish outfit are now only required to give the Red Devils half of any profit they make on the player (h/t Sunday Mirror, Page 67 – September 7).
The financials for Antony’s deal could reach up to £22.5 million if all add-ons are met.
Betis will be paying that sum in instalments – around £3.9m per year over the course of the forward’s five-year contract.
The amount will increase by approximately £435,000 per year if the club qualifies for the Champions League or wins a European title.
Antony joined United in 2022 from Ajax in a staggering £85m deal.
He scored three goals in his first three games for the English giants, but his subsequent displays proved that the club made a massive mistake by signing him.
The Brazil international bagged just 12 goals and five assists in 96 appearances across all competitions.
He revived his career in Spain after joining Betis on loan for the second half of last season, tallying nine goals and five assists in 26 games.
Antony will now hope to make a similar impact after joining Los Verdiblancos permanently.
