Real Madrid’s plans to reshape their midfield this summer have encountered an unexpected hurdle.

Despite receiving offers from the Premier League for Eduardo Camavinga and Aurelien Tchouameni, neither player is willing to bring their time at the Santiago Bernabeu to an end.

The latest Real Madrid transfer news suggests the club accepted proposals for both French midfielders, but the transfers have stalled after the players decided they want to continue at the club.

According to Defensa Central, both midfielders were offered contracts matching their current salaries, yet neither was convinced by the prospect of leaving Madrid.

Camavinga not in Mourinho’s plans

The biggest development in the Real Madrid transfer updates is that the club was prepared to listen to offers for both players.

On that note, the Eduardo Camavinga transfer situation appears the most advanced, as the midfielder, who is under contract until 2029, has been valued at around €60 million as Real Madrid look to generate funds for further arrivals.

Although Mourinho is said not to view Camavinga as part of his long-term plans, the French international has no intention of leaving

The Eduardo Camavinga future update indicates the midfielder remains determined to fight for his place rather than seek a move elsewhere.

What about Tchouameni?

Meanwhile, Tchouameni’s case is slightly different.

While Manchester United’s interest in the Frenchman has been widely reported, Real Madrid continue to rate the midfielder highly and would only consider a sale if an offer exceeding €100 million arrives.

Even so, the Aurelien Tchouameni transfer developments suggest the player has also rejected the opportunity to move to the Premier League.

The fact that Real Madrid accepted offers for Camavinga and Tchouameni provides a clear indication that the club is at least open to significant changes in midfield this summer.

However, both players have made their position equally clear.

Despite interest from England and proposals that would have maintained their current earnings, neither midfielder wants to leave the Santiago Bernabéu at this stage of their careers.
