In a recent report, Fichajes stated that Real Madrid are in the running to land Al-Hilal midfielder Ruben Neves. It has been mentioned that Los Blancos would have to rival Manchester United in the race to land the Portuguese talent next year.
The 28-year-old is having a decent campaign at the Saudi club as he has been responsible for producing a run of solid performances at the heart of their midfield. Neves has played in 20 matches for Al-Hilal this season, netting six goals and grabbing three assists in the process across various competitions.
The Portugal international has continued to shine in Saudi football following his successful spell at Wolverhampton Wanderers. Hence, it is no surprise that Real Madrid are among the clubs hoping to get him on board next year.
Neves is under contract at Al-Hilal until the end of this campaign. Hence, Los Blancos could potentially sign him on the cheap this January or on a free transfer next summer.

Neves loves a tackle and can work hard for his team defensively when needed. He is a tidy passer of the ball as well and can make some clever runs with the ball from midfield.
The Portugal international can strike the ball with a lot of power from long range. However, there are some concerns over whether he can make a smooth transition to life in La Liga if Los Blancos manage to sign him in 2026.
Neves would bring more quality and depth to Real Madrid head coach Xabi Alonso’s midfield department. He is good enough to compete for a regular first-team spot at the Madrid club in the coming years.
At 28, Neves is playing in his prime, which makes him a worthy target for Real Madrid to consider this winter or at the end of this campaign. He could even help the Madrid outfit compete across all fronts in the future. All in all, Alonso would be wise to go all out to snap him up next year. However, Real Madrid have to give him some time to adjust to life in La Liga before they can get the best out of the player.
