An insight into the extent of the competition in the race to sign Brazilian sensation Estêvão Willian this summer has been forthcoming online.

The info comes courtesy of Goal Brasil, and points towards a whole host of European football’s top clubs keeping a close eye on Estêvão’s situation.

Dubbed ‘Messinho’ in his home country, 17-year-old attacker Estêvão is widely considered to be one of South America’s next superstars in the making.

A supremely-gifted wide-man with touch, skill, pace and an eye for goal, the Palmeiras standout looks set to have a bright future at the very top level of the game.

So, just where could Estêvão end up?

Just this weekend, it was reiterated that the player himself has eyes for one landing spot above all others – Barcelona.

However, it is safe to say that the Blaugrana will have their work cut out if they actually intend to strike a deal for Estêvão.

This comes with a further five of the continent’s heavyweights also on the trail of the starlet.

As per the aforementioned Goal, all of Chelsea, Arsenal, Bayern Munich, Paris Saint-Germain and, no doubt of particular concern to Barcelona, Real Madrid have already made contact with Palmeiras regarding their latest prodigious talent.

None have yet gone as far as to table an official offer, but precisely as much is expected to be forthcoming, potentially as early as this summer.
