Kylian Mbappe has missed both of Real Madrid’s games so far in the FIFA Club World Cup and the impact is clear for Los Blancos to have relatively struggled in the final third in his absence.
A stomach bug kept him out of action and the Frenchman was even hospitalised for his attack of gastroenteritis.
The player has now been discharged and returned to training in Miami but visuals from Real Madrid’s social media raised stark concerns over his well-being for the player looks completely drained and frail.
As relayed by MARCA in a recent report, there is indeed reason to be worried over Mbappe’s physical transformation for the worse. The drop in weight and muscle mass is not only conspicuous but alarming from a health standpoint.
The Spanish outlet confirms that Real Madrid’s medical staff estimate Mbappe to have lost between four to five kilos of his weight after his recent attack of gastroenteritis and it is clear the infection has left serious sequelae.

The player worked in the gym today and is looking to give his best shot at returning to the starting lineup for the next game against RB Salzburg.
Given his condition, clear frailness and obviously poor condition, Xabi Alonso may be better off phasing the forward’s return from illness.
The manager will thus likely keep Mbappe away from the starting XI on the night and may well introduce him only in the second half based on the game situation.
Returning from such an exhausting illness, after all, is anything but easy.
Once Mbappe is back, he is expected to take back his starting spot from Gonzalo Garcia who has served as a decent stand-in in recent games. With his return, Real Madrid will hope to rediscover their mojo in the attacking third.
