Gilberto Mora is one of many names that have been linked with a move to Real Madrid, as the club continue to hunt for talent across the globe.
Aged just 17, Mora is an attacking midfielder hailing from Mexico and currently plies his trade for Club Tijuana.
In recent weeks, the youngster has been increasingly linked with a move to Real Madrid, while other European giants are also interested in acquiring his services.
A recent report from ESPN (h/t Defensa Central) has offered an update on the future of Gilberto, suggesting that he is keen on playing for Real Madrid.
The driving force behind this ambition is his idolization of Kylian Mbappe, who is currently a key star in Xabi Alonso’s squad.
The report suggests that during his free time at the recent U-20 World Cup in Chile, Mora watched Real Madrid matches specifically to admire the talent of the French striker.

Those close to the player have confirmed this affection. Ignacio Ruvalcaba, Tijuana’s academy director, recently acknowledged: “He has a dream, which is to play for Real Madrid… He always watches football and loves watching Madrid”.
The Mexican prodigy is undoubtedly on the radar of Juni Calafat, Real Madrid’s head of scouting. However, the club believes he still needs to prove himself in a major tournament.
This next step could happen soon, as he may feature in Javier Aguirre’s plans for the upcoming World Cup on home soil.
Any potential deal would be costly. His agent, Rafaela Pimenta, recently stated that €15 million “won’t buy even one of Gilberto’s legs,” with Transfermarkt valuing the teenager at €45 million
