Real Madrid board ‘do not understand’ why Carlo Ancelotti is not starting one player | OneFootball

Important voices behind the scenes at La Liga champions Real Madrid are becoming increasingly confused by Carlo Ancelotti’s insistence on leaving Raúl Asencio on the club’s bench.

That’s according to Relevo, who have on Monday provided an insight into the situation.

The name of defender Asencio of course emerged as a prominent one in the post-match chatter once more on Sunday evening.

As much came after the Spanish starlet, who has shone so brightly across his senior appearances for Real Madrid to date, was left on the bench yet again in the Supercopa finale.

En route to an eventual 5-2 drubbing at the hands of Barcelona, the 21-year-old was introduced only as a 2nd-half substitute.

Aurélien Tchouaméni, instead, was depended upon once more in an unnatural position at the heart of defence.

And the latter’s latest struggles have only served in compounding the bemusement of some of those in the boardroom at the Santiago Bernabéu.

That’s according to Relevo, who have revealed that:

‘Authoritative voices in the club do not understand why a talent like Asencio, who has stood out since his debut, has burst through the youth academy and has not found continuity due to Ancelotti maintaining the bet on Tchouaméni.’
