Real Madrid have confirmed Alvaro Arbeloa’s departure as first-team coach. The club said in a statement that both parties had agreed to end his tenure.
The separation had been anticipated, with Arbeloa himself confirming he was leaving just before the final La Liga match of the season.

Appointed in mid-January to replace Xabi Alonso, the Spaniard oversaw 28 matches.
Madrid were knocked out of the Copa del Rey in the round of 16 by Albacete.
They were then beaten by Bayern Munich in the Champions League quarter-finals.
Under Arbeloa, Madrid finished second in La Liga.
