Real Madrid have confirmed the signing of France defender Ibrahima Konaté, who will leave Liverpool when his contract expires on 30 June. The club said in a statement that the 27-year-old has agreed a deal until 2030.
His arrival had been among Florentino Pérez’s re-election campaign promises. Konaté is currently with France at the 2026 World Cup.

Konaté previously played for Sochaux from 2014 to 2017, Leipzig from 2017 to 2021 and Liverpool from 2021 to 2026.
Real Madrid will be his fourth professional club.
He made 183 appearances for the Reds and won the Premier League in 2025.
