Real Madrid and Vinicius Junior remain unmoved over the ongoing attempts to extend his contract in the Spanish capital.
The club have been in talks with Vini Jr’s representatives since the end of 2024 with the main issue focusing on the demands reportedly changing on the player’s end with both parties no longer in conversations over a possible renewal.
With two years remaining on his deal, speculation has stepped up over his future plans, with the Los Blancos No.7 the subject of constant interest from the Saudi Pro League, amid rumours of a €300m transfer fee and a €1bn contract being put forward.
In February, Vinicius reportedly met with Saudi officials to listen to their offer. Yet it all seemed to have settled down by March as fresh reports emerged over agreed terms in Madrid.
Vinicius remains keen to stay at Real Madrid, and his intention has always been to sign a new contract, but he wants a key request met before restarting talks.

The Brazilian feels he should earn the same as Kylian Mbappe, something Los Blancos are not willing to entertain, as they seek a compromise.
As per the latest update from Diario AS, the club are no closer to an agreement, despite Xabi Alonso insisting he is crucial to the squad.
Vini has started the season strongly, with two league goals and an assist, on the back of registering 22 goals and 19 assists across all competitions last season.
However, he is rumoured to be concerned over another change to his role to accommodate Mbappe, and his importance has reduced ever so slightly under Alonso.
The coming months will decide what happens next, but Real Madrid want to avoid his contract running into its final 12 months, as the Saudi Pro League re-emerge alongside links to PSG and Manchester City from 2026 onwards.
