Real Madrid fans fume with Florentino Pérez over Julián Alvarez bid | OneFootball

Supporters of La Liga giants Real Madrid have on Tuesday made clear their frustration with club president Florentino Pérez.

This comes after the identity of the Spanish patron’s €150 million mystery transfer target was confirmed…

The player used by Pérez and his team to strengthen their bid for reelection in this past weekend’s presidential election in Spain’s capital? Julián Alvarez.

As per a statement released across Real Madrid’s website and social media platforms this evening, they have seen a club-record transfer offer for the Argentine rejected by city rivals Atlético:

‘Real Madrid C. F. announces that, following the meeting of the Board of Directors held today, it has made an offer of 150 million euros to Club Atlético de Madrid for the federative rights of the player Julián Álvarez.

‘After reviewing and evaluating the offer, Club Atlético de Madrid has expressed its gratitude for the proposal, made within the framework of the good relations between both clubs, and has rejected it, referring to the player’s release clause.’

And as alluded to above, news of as much has since not gone down at all well amongst those of a Blancos persuasion…

Drawn on the identity of his mystery target during an exchange with the media last week, Pérez pointed towards a ‘Galáctico’ signing, on the level of some of the greatest players in Real’s recent history.

And if the ensuing reaction online is anything to go by, then Alvarez is evidently not considered as being at such a level by those of a Real Madrid persuasion:
