Mbappe will miss Azerbaijan match

It will no doubt please Real Madrid that Mbappe will not undertake the long trip to Baku to face Azerbaijan on Sunday. However if Mbappe has sustained a more serious issue, then they will lose their player of the season so far. Mbappe has played every match under Xabi Alonso this season, scoring in all but four of those sixteen games.

With 18 goals and two assists, losing Mbappe for any amount of time would be a problem for Los Blancos, as his contributions represent 59% of Real Madrid’s total goals this season. After the international break, Real Madrid travel to face Elche, Olympiakos in the Champions League, Girona and Athletic Club in a run of four straight away games.
