Mastantuono discusses the difference between Arbeloa and Alonso

The young Argentine talent Franco Mastantuono spoke about the arrival of Álvaro Arbeloa, the new Real Madrid coach, and compared his coaching methods to those of former manager Xabi Alonso.

Real Madrid will travel this Wednesday evening to face Benfica Lisbon at the Estádio da Luz in the UEFA Champions League. Kick-off is scheduled for 20:00 GMT in the Portuguese capital.

In comments relayed by the Spanish daily AS, Franco Mastantuono explained: “Álvaro and his staff have placed great trust in me, and that’s fundamental for any player. They believed in my abilities, which allowed me to play with more freedom.”

The Argentine midfielder continued: “I am very grateful to this staff, as well as to Xabi Alonso and his team, who previously trusted me. Arbeloa is an excellent coach, he brings us a lot, and I am convinced that we will achieve our goals with him.”

This season, Franco Mastantuono has featured in 21 matches for Los Merengues in all competitions, scoring 3 goals and providing one assist.
