Real Madrid is working on a mega-transfer: Bayern star Olise remains their dream player

Signing Michael Olise remains Real Madrid’s big dream. But Bayern Munich has no intention of selling him—and apparently wants to tie down the French attacking star with a lucrative long-term contract.

If it were up to the Royals, Olise would be high on their wish list for the offense. As transfer expert Fabrizio Romano reports, the 24-year-old’s name has come up repeatedly in internal discussions at Real Madrid over the past few days and weeks. The winger is therefore still considered the Spaniards’ dream signing.

At Säbener Straße, however, the club is sticking to its well-known stance: Olise is not to be let go. Instead, according to Romano, Bayern Munich is prepared to offer the Frenchman a contract with very high earnings. An upgrade to his existing contract is thus on the table.

Bayern is holding on to Olise – Madrid remains in the hunt

Romano’s assessment of an earlier move by the Spanish club is intriguing: The offer for Julian Alvarez from Atlético Madrid and an alleged bid were reportedly just a bluff. No concrete offer for Olise materialized following Herbert Hainer’s clear statements—according to Romano, it was clear to Real that 150 million euros wouldn’t have been enough anyway.

Olise has a long-term contract with Bayern running through 2029. The Munich club is therefore not formally under pressure and continues to classify him as unsellable. It had already been reported that, due to growing interest from other top clubs, Bayern might apparently move to extend his contract sooner than originally expected. This aligns with Romano’s assessment that the club intends to retain the star with a strong offer.

Currently, however, Olise has his sights set on the World Cup: He is fully focused on the tournament with France. In the 3-1 opening victory against Senegal, he impressed with two assists and was named Man of the Match—performances that are likely to further increase his international profile.

According to Romano, more clarity is unlikely to emerge until after the World Cup, and Bayern’s stance is not expected to change until then. While Olise’s recent removal of his Instagram photos in the Bayern jersey fueled speculation, it cannot be definitively interpreted as a sign of an impending departure.
