Real Madrid are reportedly keeping a close eye on Adam Wharton, a rising star in English football and currently one of Crystal Palace’s standout players.
At just 21 years old, Wharton has quickly made a name for himself in the Premier League thanks to his tactical awareness and influence in the middle of the park.
According to SPORT, Madrid’s interest is serious, and Jude Bellingham has even recommended the midfielder, believing his skill set fits perfectly with the style of play Xabi Alonso is looking to introduce at the Santiago Bernabeu.
In England, many already see Wharton as ready to make the jump to a top European club, and Real Madrid appear keen to keep him firmly on their radar.
Wharton’s strengths lie in his positional sense and adaptability. He can comfortably operate as a defensive pivot, controlling the midfield with composure, or push forward to link up with the attack.
His sharp passing and his calmness under pressure allow him to create openings and give his teammates a tactical advantage.

While not a prolific goalscorer, Wharton excels as a playmaker. His vision and precision have drawn comparisons to Toni Kroos, whose departure has left a creative gap in Madrid’s midfield.
Finding a player with similar control and influence has been a priority for Los Blancos, and Wharton’s profile seems to tick many of the boxes.
Any potential deal, however, would be far from straightforward. Crystal Palace are enjoying a historic high, having secured their place in the Europa League after lifting both the FA Cup and the Community Shield.
Financially secure, the London club have no pressure to sell and are unlikely to let Wharton go for anything less than a significant fee.
For now, negotiations have not progressed, but his presence on Madrid’s list shows that the club, under Xabi Alonso, is ready to explore the English market for the next midfield leader in their new project.
