Over the past few days, rumours of Real Madrid setting their sights on AC Milan and France left-back Theo Hernandez have been picking up pace.
The 27-year-old defender has been linked with a return to the Santiago Bernabeu amidst some tension between him and the Rossoneri manager Paulo Fonseca, coupled with the fact that his contract expires in 2026.
Theo is said to be seen as a Plan B at Real Madrid should their operation to sign Alphonso Davies fail in light of new efforts from Bayern Munich to keep him.
However, according to the latest update from Gazzetta dello Sport, Theo Hernandez insists on continuing at AC Milan and signing a new contract despite there being some problems with coach Fonseca.
Theo has been overlooked in recent games by the coach, with the Frenchman getting benched in the last two Serie A matches in favour of another ex-Real Madrid talent Alex Jimenez.

Fonseca is believed to be not happy with Hernandez, in terms of his attitude and efforts in training, and performances, and has told him so in front of some of his teammates, leading to friction.
The situation is quite delicate – even off the field considering that Hernandez’s contract expires in 2026.
However, as per the report, following a meeting with the Frenchman’s agent last Monday, there is optimism that a renewal can be finalised.
Hernandez agrees that his relationship with former manager Stefano Pioli was much different to what the current situation is with Fonseca. However, he intends to stay at Milan and pen a new deal.
The same was confirmed by his agent last week, when he said: “The clear will is to stay and renew, we have said this many times.”
