Real Madrid are making a habit of signing Liverpool players.

Last year Trent Alexander-Arnold moved to the Bernabeu for a cut-price £10m fee after the right-back allowed his contract to run down.

Ibrahima Konate is now set to follow a similar path - agreeing to join Real on a deal which is worth around £100m to the Frenchman.

But Florentino Perez won’t stop there having won the presidential elections over the weekend. The 15-time European champions have got another Liverpool player in their sights this summer in the shape of midfieder Ryan Gravenberch.

Real Madrid pick Ryan Gravenberch

That’s according to a new report in Fichajes which claims that the Dutchman is now seen as the ideal candidate to lead Los Blancos’ midfield in the seasons ahead.

“Real Madrid are looking to accelerate their squad overhaul and have identified Ryan Gravenberch as one of their top targets to strengthen the midfield,” the report reads.

Gravenberch, 24, joined Liverpool under Jurgen Klopp back in 2023 from Bayern Munich.

We had to wait until the 2024/25 season to see the best of the Netherlands international however with Gravenberch emerging as one of the best No6s in the world under Arne Slot.

Gravenberch on massive £277k per week contract

Liverpool rewarded the No38 with a bumper new contract worth £277k per week until 2032. Therefore the outgoing Premier League champions would be in total control of the former Ajax player’s transfer destiny and be entitled to charge a significant fee.

Gravenberch hasn’t been at his best over the last 12 months or so - fading as a force in the midfield.

Perhaps he needs a fresh start next season under new head coach Andoni Iraola - who must decide whether he wants to use Gravenberch at the base of midfield or else further up the pitch at No8.

Madrid have also got their eyes on another Liverpool midfielder in the shape of Alexis Mac Allister - who may be seen as a more attainable target due to his contract expiration date of 2028.
