Real Madrid may be heading into a long and uncertain renewal battle with Vinicius Jr., as new reports from journalist Tono Garcia on El Larguero reveal that the Brazilian forward has not accepted any of the salary offers put forward by the club so far.

Vinicius’ current contract runs until June 2027, but talks over a renewal are already proving difficult.

Despite the club’s intention to extend his stay and keep him central to their future, the 24-year-old winger and his camp are holding firm on their financial demands.

Vinicius wants top salary

According to Garcia, Vinicius’ entourage is currently not interested in discussing a new deal. “They don’t even want to hear about it right now,” said the journalist.

“They feel there was a misunderstanding when it was assumed that Vinicius had agreed to renew with Madrid.

The truth is, he never gave the green light to the proposed salary figure, which was said to be around €20 million.

This figure, they argue, is too close to what he already earns and does not reflect his value. Instead, Vinicius reportedly wants a deal worth more than €25 million net per season, a number that would make him the highest-paid player at the club.

He is not basing this on what others earn, but rather on what he believes he deserves.

Talks put on ice

For now, the negotiations have been shelved. Vinicius’ camp wants to let things settle before engaging in any further talks.

While both the club and the player want to reach an agreement eventually, the situation is delicate. With less than two years left on his current deal, pressure is slowly building.

Real Madrid are yet to show signs of matching Vinicius’ demands, especially after a season where the forward’s performances, though solid, may not have justified a leap to such a high wage bracket.

Unless one side gives in, the standoff could drag on well into 2026.
