Real Madrid midfielder Mario Martin will soon be officially announced as a new Getafe player after the agreement for his one-season loan move was finalised, reports MARCA.
After weighing several offers, the La Fabrica midfielder has decided to continue his career in La Liga under the management of Jose Bordalas.
The operation mirrors last summer’s loan deal between the two clubs involving Alvaro Rodriguez.
After spending the last season on loan at Real Valladolid, Martin returned to Real Madrid and was included in the squad for the FIFA Club World Cup by manager Xabi Alonso.
Although he did not play in any matches, the coach wanted him close to monitor his progress.
However, with fierce competition in Real Madrid’s midfield, it was deemed that the best move for the young player’s development would be to continue gaining experience elsewhere, following his previous loan spell at Valladolid.

Over the course of the summer, Mario Martin has received multiple offers. He prioritised staying connected to Real Madrid and focused on the Club World Cup before making any decision.
During this time, he considered several proposals, including one from Botafogo. Former Real Madrid assistant coach Davide Ancelotti was keen to bring him to Brazil, but the deal ultimately did not materialise.
Getafe, who had shown consistent interest from the beginning, have now secured the player for the upcoming season.
With Martin’s imminent departure, Real Madrid continues to push forward with their ‘Operation Exit’ for academy players.
A plethora of talents such as Yusi, Rafel Obrador, Marvel, and Victor Munoz have left the club while Jacobo Ramon and Chema Andres are also set to depart soon.Lorenzo Aguado may be next, as his transfer to Albacete is close to completion.
