Arda Guler delivered a solid performance for Real Madrid in their Copa del Rey clash against Deportiva Minera, despite not being in the best physical condition.
In fact, according to Guillermo Rai, the young forward played the entire match while battling a fever, showcasing his determination and commitment to the team.
Guler was the standout player of the night, scoring two goals and playing the full 90 minutes.
His enthusiasm was evident even before the match, as he engaged in warm-up exercises with Eduardo Camavinga, practising his passing, control, and shooting.
This was despite having missed training earlier due to flu-like symptoms. Nevertheless, the Turk looked confident and ready, which he converted into a stellar performance on the pitch.
During the match, Guler demonstrated his exceptional abilities with six shots, 95 touches, five key passes, and the creation of three significant chances.
He also contributed defensively, winning seven duels and completing two successful tackles.

His positioning and composure shone through, particularly with his second goal, where he showed the instincts of a top striker to find the back of the net just before the final whistle.
However, it was his first goal in the 28th minute that truly stole the show. Guler took on multiple defenders and unleashed a powerful shot from outside the box, cementing his status as the best player of the match.
Real Madrid’s coaching staff have long been praising the forward’s efficiency in front of goal, and the statistics justify their confidence.
This season, he has already recorded three goals and three assists in just 766 minutes, a significant improvement from the 442 minutes he played last season. Additionally, the muscular injuries that plagued him previously have not resurfaced.
Guler remains ambitious and is eager for more opportunities, but he also trusts the process under Carlo Ancelotti. This standout performance is bound to strengthen his case for increased involvement in the team’s plans moving forward.
