PSG are reportedly keeping a close eye on Ibrahima Konaté—but they’re not alone. Real Madrid are also showing interest in the Liverpool center-back, whose contract runs until 2026. With the summer transfer window nearing, speculation around Konaté’s future is heating up.
Milan Skriniar, currently on loan at Fenerbahçe, is expected to make a permanent exit from PSG this summer. That’s led the club to start identifying potential replacements in defense. While no move is on the horizon just yet, PSG are clearly planning for a post-Skriniar backline.
Their interest in Konaté isn’t new. Back in February, Anfield Watch reported that PSG had been closely tracking the Paris-born defender, sparking talk of a possible return to his hometown. A product of Paris FC’s youth academy who rose to prominence at RB Leipzig, Konaté is believed to be among PSG’s top targets as the window approaches.

The Guardian reported on Monday that the 26-year-old is unhappy with the structure of Liverpool’s contract offer, as his camp is reportedly pushing for a higher base salary. The current proposal leans heavily on performance-related incentives.
If Liverpool can’t reach an agreement with Konaté by the end of the summer, they could face a tough situation—especially in light of the backlash that followed Trent Alexander-Arnold’s move to Real Madrid.
CaughtOffside recently reported that Liverpool are concerned about a repeat of history after losing Trent Alexander-Arnold to Real Madrid on a free transfer.
The report claims that Ibrahima Konaté is asking for wages in the region of £200,000 per week—an amount the club is hesitant to meet. If the two sides can’t agree on new terms by the end of the summer, Liverpool are reportedly open to selling the defender for between €50 and €60 million.
Meanwhile, L’Équipe reported that PSG are keeping an eye on Konaté as they search for a right-sided center back. The Liverpool defender’s name had surfaced frequently a few months ago, but so far, no offer has been submitted to the Premier League club.
