If Real Madrid’s start to the season is anything to go by, the administration is already eyeing a massive haul next summer given the deficiencies in the squad.
While the midfield and the centre-back positions are departments that demand urgent signings, the board appear to have the left-back department ready for a big signing.
Bayern Munich’s Alphonso Davies has been declining renewal talks with the Bavarian giants to push for a move to Real Madrid on a free transfer and all signs point to him arriving next summer.
In fact, reports state that Los Blancos even have a verbal agreement in place with the Canadian international.
As relayed by the The Athletic in a recent update, Real Madrid will try to sell one of their two existing left-backs if Davies arrives next summer.

They see it to be unsustainable to handle three players competing for one starting place and will thus dispose of one of Garcia or Ferland Mendy.
The outlet also furthers that, in such an event, Garcia would be the primary candidate to leave the club.
Letting go of the Spanish international does come with its own set of pros and cons, for Garcia has always been willing to settle for a backup role without any fuss. While he may not be as defensively skilled as Mendy, his patience was a massive positive.
Keeping Mendy in the squad enables Real Madrid to maintain a more solid backup option to Davies, but it remains to be seen how the Frenchman reacts to playing second-fiddle all season. After all, the Canadian star will be the de facto starter.
