In a season wrought by injuries to the Real Madrid defensive unit, the breakthrough of Raul Asencio has been a rare positive for Los Blancos.
A product of the La Fabrica academy, Asencio made his debut last year, appearing as a subsitute for the injured Eder Militao against Osasuna. The youngster has never had to look back since.
Now seen as a surefire starter at Real Madrid this season in Militao’s absences, the minutes he has accumulated speak for themselves.
This is especially considering how Carlo Ancelotti has appeared hesitant when giving young players the opportunity to perform at the highest level.
Now, a recent report from Fichajes has pointed out that Real Madrid consider Asencio a vital part of their long-term project.

As such, the club are keen on renewing the contract of the young defender, whose contract at the Santiago Bernabeu expires in June 2026.
Asencio has a release clause of just €50 million embedded in his Real Madrid contract, which is quite accessible for top European clubs.
Keeping that in mind, Real Madrid are ready to table a renewal offer for Asencio, which could hand him a low to mid tier level salary, amounting to about €3 million.
Such a deal would account for double of Asencio’s current salary, which is quite an attractive deal for a youngster, who has a clear road to becoming a first-team regular for Real Madrid within the coming years.
That being said, the youngster’s future at the Bernabeu is still far from secure. The likes of PSG have already sounded out a move for the Spaniard, so it will be interesting to see whether or not he renews at Real Madrid anytime soon.
