Aurelien Tchouameni is one of the few players at Real Madrid to be a bona fide starter and have no direct competition, thus being all but assured of a starting role under Xabi Alonso.
The manager has made it very clear that he will rotate heavily through the season, maintaining a very minor difference between regular starters and substitutes, but the defensive midfield position does not have much cover.
So far, Tchouameni has been rock-solid for Real Madrid playing not only as a pivot but also as a central defender when the formation switches to three at the back. Alonso, needless to say, sees him to be essential.
As relayed in a recent report by Defensa Central, an unidentified Premier League side recently made an offer to sign the French midfielder impressed by his quality over the past year.
Real Madrid, however, would hear none of it and outright rejected the approach towards their player without any hesitation. Their response highlights the stark change in Tchouameni’s situation for he was linked with an exit not too long ago.

There is word that the club in question could be Newcastle United as relayed earlier this week, but there is a good chance the interest now is from a fresh party.
Xabi Alonso’s arrival and the seamless integration of the Frenchman into his dynamics, however, has caused his situation to turn around completely and the manager admires his ability to play multiple positions dynamically.
This is not the first time a club has enquired about the midfield star, but Real Madrid’s outright rejection speaks volumes about Tchouameni’s position in the dressing room.
In fact, the Spanish outlet also adds that the administration and management will maintain a close eye on his performances over the coming season to possibly even improve his contract and tie him down to the club.
Last season, the 25-year-old made 32 league appearances and 31 starts for the club in La Liga, averaging over ten defensive actions and four recoveries per game.
