Real Madrid could be in line for an unexpected financial boost this summer as Bournemouth edge closer to completing the signing of Alvaro Rodriguez from Elche.
According to Mario Cortegana of The Athletic, the Premier League club are in advanced negotiations to secure the striker’s services, with discussions progressing towards a five-year agreement that would keep him at the club until 2031.
The proposed deal is valued at €30 million, made up of €25 million in guaranteed payments and a further €5 million in performance-related bonuses.
Thanks to a clause inserted during his departure, Real Madrid stand to benefit significantly from the operation.

After joining Elche permanently in the summer of 2025, the forward established himself as an important figure in the squad, becoming a regular starter in La Liga.
He featured in 34 out of 38 league matches during the campaign, registering seven goals and five assists as Elche secured a 15th-place finish.
Those performances sparked interest from clubs across Europe, with several Premier League sides monitoring his development.
As a result, Bournemouth have closed in on finalising an agreement worth €30 million.
While Alvaro Rodriguez left Madrid last year, the club ensured they maintained an economic interest in his future.

Real Madrid retained 50% of the player’s rights when Elche signed him permanently, a decision that now looks increasingly valuable.
Should Bournemouth complete the transfer under the reported conditions, Los Blancos would receive €12.5 million from the fixed portion of the deal alone.
Rodriguez’s connection with Madrid dates back to his arrival from Girona to join the club’s academy system.
The striker eventually made his senior debut in January 2023 during a Copa del Rey victory over Cacereno, before continuing his development through loan spells and regular first-team football elsewhere.
A season-long move to Getafe in 2024 helped him gain valuable experience, and his subsequent transfer to Elche proved to be the catalyst for his breakthrough.
