Windfalls have been kind on Real Madrid so far this summer as the club have pocketed handsomely from the sale of players who were not even in the first-team dynamics last season.
While the Nico Paz saga is indeed the headliner, the stories of Victor Munoz and Alvaro Rodriguez have also been significant in terms of bringing Real Madrid a financial gain in such fashion.
Now, as reported by Sky Sport Italia, Los Blancos could be closing in on yet another windfall, this time through the sale of Mario Gila.
As reported by the outlet, AC Milan are close to signing the former Real Madrid academy graduate and are pushing for an agreement to be reached at the earliest.

Currently, there is talk of a fee being agreed close to the €25 million mark, making it a rather high-profile transfer.
This comes as a significant development for the Real Madrid offices as Los Blancos still hold 50% of the player’s rights.
Needless to say, that guarantees the club a windfall of €12.5 million straight if the said fee is agreed on.
Gila was a member of Real Madrid’s Castilla team and was seen as one of the highest-rated prospects in the side for a long time. Eventually, he left the club in 2022 looking for greener pastures and signed for Lazio in the Serie A.

Since then, the player has participated in four seasons for the Italian club and has become a defensive mainstay for them. He has over 120 official appearances with 31 league appearances last season alone.
In his 31 appearances in the Serie A last season, the 25-year-old oversaw seven clean sheets and averaged close to ten defensive actions per game. He has played primarily as a central defender and has been rock solid for them, attracting interest from even Napoli.
While Real Madrid are also looking for a new centre-back, there is little to no talk of Gila being considered an option for Jose Mourinho.
Instead, the windfall the club receive through his transfer may well be used to sign another Serie A defender instead – Alessandro Bastoni.
