Real Madrid’s big stars have enjoyed a stellar World Cup so far, and the real standouts have been France’s Kylian Mbappe and England’s Jude Bellingham.
While the former was always expected to perform exceedingly well, there were doubts regarding the latter’s ability to come good under the pressure of the World Cup given the season he had with Real Madrid.
Yet, he has blown opposition away with virtually all of the man-of-the-match awards and a game-changing contribution in almost every match. In fact, a big part of England’s presence in the quarterfinal has to do with his quick fire brace against Mexico.
Speaking to the media (h/t Belfast Telegraph) ahead of England’s quarterfinal tie scheduled for later this week, the Three Lions’ midfielder Morgan Rogers was asked to give his honest opinion on the stellar World Cup Jude Bellingham has enjoyed so far.

As a direct competitor for a place on the field, it would not have been easy for the player to shower praise on the Real Madrid star. Such have been Bellingham’s performances, however, that he could not dispute that the player is playing like a man ‘possessed.’
“Jude Bellingham playing like a man possessed? Well, I told you that before. The squad and I aren’t surprised by his performances or how he’s been key in big moments.”
Speaking about England’s most recent game where Bellingham’s brace saved the team, Rogers said,
“He didn’t start the game well vs Mexico, but in the space of 5 mins, he put his fingerprints on the game and took over it.”
Finally, he heaped praise on his compatriot and his ability to perform under pressure time and time again.
“That’s the type of player he is and we need him in big moments. In tough times, when things aren’t going your way, you need your best players to stand up and he’s done that in every game so far.”

Bellingham’s form for England has been superb so far at the World Cup, and almost shockingly better than the level he showed for Real Madrid last season.
While his campaign was injury-riddled, the player did not create the same moments in the final third as he is now, and that could well have to do with the change in position he was forced to adapt to.
Jose Mourinho, however, loves Bellingham’s attacking output and is keen on recreating the same environment at the club level so as to maximise his output.
Come next season, the player could thus play with more attacking freedom than ever before and become Real Madrid’s magic weapon in the final third.
