Manchester United’s search for a forward option may be about to take a dramatic turn, with reports suggesting Real Madrid youngster Endrick is now pushing for an exit. Credit goes to TeamTalk for surfacing the story, citing respected journalist Jeremy Cross and their own transfer insider Dean Jones, both of whom indicate that the 19-year-old is actively seeking a loan away in January.
Despite arriving at the Santiago Bernabeu with enormous hype and a €70million (£61.2m) price tag, Endrick has struggled for playing time under Xabi Alonso. As reported, the youngster has “yet to make a single appearance” since recovering from injury. Alonso has called him up into matchday squads but “has not used him”.
That has proven decisive. According to The Sunday People, “Endrick has told his representatives he will have to leave the Bernabeu in the January window unless there is a dramatic change in his prospects”. Another key line states he “is increasingly desperate to leave”.

Real Madrid socio Pepe Alvarez backed the story on X, writing, “Endrick will leave in January, the player has given in and agrees to seek a loan that ensures him playing time to try to have a chance of going to the World Cup.”
Ruben Amorim’s side are reportedly among several European clubs exploring a six-month loan, with West Ham United, Juventus and Newcastle United also credited with interest. TeamTalk confirm that “should Joshua Zirkzee pursue an exit, then Man Utd will try to find a replacement in the middle of the season.”
One insider was quoted stating a deal is “possible”, suggesting that talks have already been explored at some level. Amorim is hardly short of attacking talent thanks to Benjamin Sesko and Rasmus Hojlund, but Endrick represents a different profile. He has been “hailed as the next Ronaldo”, and that line alone will stir excitement among United fans.
A motivating factor for Endrick is a place in the Brazil squad for the 2026 World Cup. With competition fierce at international level, he clearly believes watching from the Madrid bench will not be enough. As TeamTalk outline, “A place in the Brazil squad for the 2026 World Cup finals next summer is at stake”.
Even Xabi Alonso, when pressed, appeared keen to keep both Gonzalo Garcia and Endrick involved, stating, “That’s not on my mind right now, it’s not a consideration. They’re both ready to play. It’s a position where we have fantastic competition.”
That final line paints the issue sharply. At Madrid, competition is fierce. At United, opportunity is far more visible.
If United can land Endrick on a short-term deal, even with no option to buy, it would represent a statement of intent. Amorim has rebuilt the club image around youth, pace and energy. Endrick fits that mould entirely.
From a Manchester United supporter perspective, this is exactly the kind of market moment fans want to see the club exploit. There is no financial risk in a loan. There is only upside. If he explodes, United gain six months of elite-level firepower. If he struggles, Amorim still retains Sesko and Hojlund as reliable options.
Supporters will already be dreaming of the 19-year-old linking with Bruno Fernandes in transition, running in behind, causing chaos. The biggest appeal is hunger. This is a player not asking for money or lifestyle benefits but for football minutes. When he says he will leave “unless there is a dramatic change in his prospects”, that speaks of ambition rather than arrogance.
United fans spent years watching youngsters thrive elsewhere while the club played it safe. Under Amorim things feel different. If this deal happens, fans will credit not only recruitment for spotting the opportunity but also Amorim for making United a club young talents actively want to join.
