Real Madrid star Luka Modrić on Friday continued to etch his name ever further into the history books of the capital giants.

As much came courtesy of his exploits during Real’s La Liga meeting with Valencia.

Carlo Ancelotti’s troops of course kicked their campaign back into gear last night, by way of a rescheduled trip to Mestalla.

And, despite having found themselves both a goal and a man down inside the closing ten minutes, Los Blancos, incredibly, went on to emerge triumphant.

The aforementioned Luka Modrić set the stage for the comeback, emerging from the bench to slot home a fine finish, before Jude Bellingham notched the game’s decisive winner deep into injury-time.

And, as alluded to above, owing to his latest strike, Modrić secured for himself a fresh piece of history.

As per statistician Mister Chip, the Croatian, at 39 years and 116 days old, is now the oldest player to ever find the net in the colours of Real Madrid, breaking the record previously held by the legendary Ferenc Puskás.
