A member of the defensive ranks at La Liga giants Real Madrid has moved to reassure the club’s supporters regarding his wellbeing.
The player in question? Álvaro Carreras.
Stopper Carreras was for his part in from the off once more on Wednesday, as Real Madrid made the trip to Valencia for a La Liga meeting with Levante.
And en route to an eventual 4-1 Blancos triumph, the summer arrival in Spain’s capital shone bright once more.
Shifted into an unfamiliar central-defensive berth, Carreras barely put a foot wrong all evening.
This added to what has been nothing short of a brilliant start to life for the 22-year-old since swapping Benfica for Real Madrid.
In turn, it came as a major source of concern when Carreras was spotted icing his calf on the bench after being hauled off late on against Levante.
Speaking to the media in the game’s aftermath, the subject of his fitness was therefore put to the left-back himself.
And Carreras went on to assure:
“Am I injured? I’m fine, I’m fine.”
