A final decision has at last been made on the future of Lucas Vázquez at La Liga giants Real Madrid.

That’s according to El Chiringuito TV, who have revealed that the veteran full-back is all set to depart on a free transfer this summer.

Vázquez’s future for next season has of course long been considered as being up in the air.

This comes ahead of the expiration of the Spaniard’s Real Madrid contract upon the close of the 2024/25 campaign.

With Trent Alexander-Arnold on the way in at the Santiago Bernabéu, and Dani Carvajal closing on a return to full fitness, it has in turn been widely reported that Vázquez could find himself the odd man out with a view to next season.

It should therefore not come as a major surprise to learn of the versatile full-back’s stint in Spain’s capital being primed to come to a close over the weeks ahead.

As per a report from El Chiringuito TV:

“Lucas and Real Madrid have decided, by mutual agreement, to separate their paths after the Club World Cup.”
