The fourth week of preseason training at Real Madrid started with the return of another batch of players who started their vacation belatedly because of their participation in the World Cup. Last Monday, it was Brahim Diaz, Bernardo Silva, and Vinicius Junior who reported to Valdebebas for training.

Being one of the new summer signings, the arrival of Silva would naturally have generated the most excitement among the fans. However, the situation surrounding Vinicius Junior is even more intriguing, as the Merengues were waiting for his return from his holidays to restart renewal negotiations with him.

This round of negotiations is expected to be the most crucial so far, as there is only one year left on his contract, and Los Blancos have already let him know that their latest offer for him is going to be the final one, and there will be no further negotiations.

Meanwhile, the Brazilian forward continued to train normally with his teammates on Tuesday. In fact, as MARCA has reported, he also talked to Real Madrid TV and opened up on his new coach, Jose Mourinho. Vinicius revealed how his talks with the Portuguese coach went:

“It has gone very well, getting to know the new coach and the new players, and training very hard. Mourinho wants me to be the way I have always been: happy, cheerful, and playing my football.”

The winger also emphasized the importance of training in this preseason, hinting at his intentions to continue wearing the Merengue club’s jersey:

“We have to prepare physically so that during the season we have fewer injuries and can count on everyone.”

The forward commented on how training is going under Mourinho:

“Yesterday we had a double session, today just one. That’s how we’re going. Today we did some gym work and a short session to put more load on our legs. It was a good training session, and we all finished very tired, but now it’s time to rest for tomorrow. That’s what preseason is like, and we have to be ready.”

With these comments, Vinicius Junior seems happy to be working with Jose Mourinho, despite them having a disagreement last season when an incident involving a racist attack from a Benfica player put these two individuals face to face.

Going forward, the next few days are going to be crucial in determining the forward’s future at Real Madrid, with Arsenal being closely linked with him. Hopefully, Jose Mourinho will be able to get the best out of him if he renews and stays at the Merengue club.
