Real Madrid star Vinícius Jr. on Tuesday equalled the Champions League assist tally of an iconic figure at Barcelona.

This came owing to the Brazilian’s performance in Los Blancos’ latest outing on the continent.

Real Madrid were of course back in action a short time ago, welcoming French outfit AS Monaco to Spain’s capital.

When all was said and done on a night to remember for the hosts, they emerged on the right side of a dominant 6-1 result.

And the aforementioned Vinícius proved himself the star of the show.

From his berth on the left flank, the 25-year-old was responsible for a scintillating individual performance.

Viní notched a brilliant goal courtesy of a rising finish during the 2nd-half, but it was his exploits on the creative front which stole the headlines.

The under-fire wide-man laid on a trio of assists across the 90 minutes (UEFA have credited him with the assist for Monaco’s own goal).

And owing to as much, Vinícius has continued to etch his name indellibly into the history books of European football.

As per UEFA‘s official website, the Real Madrid man has equalled Xavi Hernández and Thomas Müller in 7th place on the Champions League’s all-time assist list.

Vinícius has now directly created 30 goals in the competition.
