Nico Paz’s loan stint at Como has been one of the biggest success stories of any Real Madrid player who has left the club in recent years.

The youngster has established himself as a regular starter and a difference-maker for Cesc Fabregas’ side, and his performances have made Real Madrid keen on pushing for his return.

Los Blancos have buyback clauses on the player, set at €10 million and €11 million, for the summer 2026 and 2027 resolutions. They thus intend to bring him back home in June.

An unexpected meeting

While Real Madrid’s plan to bring the player back is clear, that does not mean Nico lacks other suitors. Inter Milan are among the many clubs impressed by him, and they have never denied having interest in him.

It thus comes as a surprise, via Diario AS, that the midfield starlet met with Inter Milan vice president Javier Zanetti and his family over dinner earlier this week, and the development has triggered reports of the Nerazzuri potentially swooping in.

The player and his father met with Zanetti’s family at Bonito in Milan, a restaurant owned by the Inter Milan executive himself. Also present in the meeting was another South American legend, Diego Milito.

While Inter are indeed impressed by Nico and have never hidden their admiration for him, they have not overtly come out in pursuit of a transfer.

Now, his market value stands between €60 million and €70 million, and Real Madrid have a massive advantage with their buyback clause.

It appears the recent meeting could be unrelated to transfer matters, but it cannot be ruled out that a potential move to Inter Milan was discussed on the night.
