Spanish reports have revived talk of José Mourinho’s future, with Marca stating that Florentino Pérez wants him back at Real Madrid and regards him as the frontrunner, amid claims Álvaro Arbeloa will depart at season’s end.

Marca states that the prospect is being treated seriously, but adds there has been no contact between Pérez and Mourinho to test his willingness to return.

The same report lists Zinedine Zidane and Jurgen Klopp as alternative targets.

A Bola reports that Mourinho, 63, has repeatedly swerved questions about his Benfica future, stressing he has a contract and intends to honour it. The Portuguese daily adds that he has hinted at a possible renewal with the club, yet has offered no guarantees.

Before the Sporting match, Mourinho said no employee is immune from leaving the club, regardless of contracts or personal wishes.
