Borussia Dortmund centre-back Nico Schlotterbeck suffered an injury in Germany’s 2-1 win over Côte d’Ivoire at the World Cup last week, and he is expected to be out for several months, potentially affecting any summer move.
Marca reports that the left-footed defender has slipped down José Mourinho’s centre-back shortlist at Real Madrid, with Inter’s Alessandro Bastoni now considered the leading option.

Even so, a switch to Madrid has not been ruled out for Schlotterbeck.
Bastoni is valued at around €70 million.
Schlotterbeck, capped 29 times by Germany, has a €50 million release clause active this summer for a select group of clubs, including Real Madrid.
