La Liga leaders Real Madrid are primed to poach a highly-regarded up-and-coming talent away from city rivals Atlético Madrid this summer.
That’s according to market insider Fabrizio Romano, who highlights Aimar García as the player in question.
Youngster Aimar, for his part, is an 18-year-old defender, who chiefly lines out in a central role.
The starlet’s talents, in particular on the ball, mean that he is also capable of stepping into the middle of the park, though.
Aimar is currently plying his trade with Atlético Madrid C, but has long been considered a potential future first-team star in the making.
Safe to say, then, that all of a Rojiblancos persuasion will no doubt be hugely disappointed by the latest word to have surfaced in the media regarding Aimar’s plans for his immediate future.
As per a report from Fabrizio Romano:
‘Real Madrid are closing in on deal to sign Aimar Garcia from Atlético Madrid Academy, out of contract in June. Verbal agreement done for 18-year-old centre back, as Alfredo Matilla reports.’
