In an official statement on their website, Real Madrid has provided details about Raul Asencio's health status.

After being forced off due to injury during the second leg of the Champions League playoff against Benfica last Wednesday, Raul Asencio raised serious concerns as he was taken straight to the hospital. The player tried to reassure fans, but today, Real Madrid has confirmed that he has indeed suffered a cervical injury.

"After tests carried out on our player Raúl Asencio by the Real Madrid medical staff, he has been diagnosed with a cervical contracture. His condition will be reassessed in the coming days." the club announced.

Asencio will therefore miss the upcoming match against Getafe next Monday.
