According to a recent report from Fichajes, Real Madrid have offered defender David Alaba to Turkish side Galatasaray through intermediaries.
The goal is to reduce the club’s wage bill by offloading a player who no longer fits into manager Xabi Alonso’s plans or the long-term strategy of the club’s sporting management.
Alaba, who arrived at Real Madrid with big expectations, has struggled to stay healthy and meet the high standards set for him.
The defender’s frequent injuries and declining performance have turned him from a key player into a liability.
Even though his contract runs until 2026, the club sees his future away from the Santiago Bernabeu. His high salary places him among the squad’s top earners, and combined with his limited time on the pitch, it’s clear why Real Madrid are keen to move him on.

By selling him, the club hopes to free up crucial funds that can be used for new signings or contract renewals.
Interestingly, Alaba himself has a connection that could make a move to Turkey easier. During his time in Vienna, he developed a good relationship with the Turkish community and has openly spoken about his fondness for Galatasaray.
This link could help convince the player to accept a transfer if the financial aspects can be worked out. However, the Turkish club would need to handle Alaba’s high wages, which could be a major obstacle in negotiations.
For Real Madrid, moving on from Alaba has become a priority. The club wants to avoid paying a big salary to a player who spends more time recovering from injuries than playing.
At the club, they are hoping for a solution soon so they can plan their squad and finances without worrying about Alaba’s situation.
