Tensions ran high when Real Madrid locked horns against Celta Vigo, especially with the referee making multiple decisions that seemingly hurt Los Blancos’ chances.
The game ended with several Real Madrid stars seeing red cards, the manager lashing out at the referee in his press conference and a general sense of injustice in the Real Madrid camp, leaving players furious.
Concurrently, however, there was a serious sense of disappointment for fans in the stands, especially given how they flocked to the venue in large numbers to see the team play their first home game in over a month.
As relayed by Defensa Central in a recent update, most players of the team stormed right back into the dressing room in the aftermath of the collapse and did not interact with the media or with fans.
Only two players stayed back on the field and apologised to the supporters for letting them down.

Thibaut Courtois and Antonio Rudiger were the two leaders who put their anger and disappointment to bed and faced the fans to convey their apologies on behalf of the team.
The duo went around the stadium close to the fans, and their gesture did not go unnoticed by fans who appreciated their commitment to the team and leadership.
In fact, the fans even handed them a round of applause for their affection and understanding.
Notably, even Vinicius Jr stayed on the field for quite a long time after the game and gestured towards fans asking for forgiveness, although the Brazilian did not go around the stadium or get close to fans like the veteran duo.
While Courtois and Rudiger’s gesture was indeed heart-warming, fans will expect an apology from the entire team when they take on Manchester City later this week – not through words but in action by delivering a strong performance.
