Barcelona await in Sunday’s final in Jeddah as holders look to tee up another Clasico showdown
Real Madrid take on Mallorca in tonight’s second Spanish Super Cup semi-final tie.
After a blip at the start of the season, Carlo Ancelotti’s side currently sit on top of the LaLiga table again and few would bet against them going on to impress in the Champions League once more this term.
Los Blancos - who won the Intercontinental Cup by beating Mexican side Pachuca in Qatar last month - made light work of minnows Deportiva Minera on Monday night after their fiery victory over Valencia that saw Vinicius Jr sent off, running out 5-0 winners in the Copa del Rey third round.
Now they face a Mallorca side with whom they drew at the start of the campaign and who currently sit sixth in LaLiga under Jagoba Arrasate but were stunned by fourth-division minnows Pontevedra in the Copa del Rey last time out.
Barcelona await tonight’s winners, having beaten Athletic Club 2-0 in Wednesday’s first semi-final match courtesy of goals from Gavi and Lamine Yamal.
Real Madrid vs Mallorca is scheduled for a 7pm GMT kick-off time tonight on Thursday January 9, 2025.
The match will take place at King Abdullah Sports City in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia.
TV channel: The game will be broadcast live on Movistar Plus.

Vinicius Jr will be available for Real Madrid despite his red card against Valencia last week. The Brazilian could also feature in the final if Madrid get there, with the two-game suspension handed to him only applicable in LaLiga.

Dani Carvajal and Eder Militao are still injured, while Jesus Vallejo hasn’t travelled and Luka Modric now been ruled out through illness.
For Mallorca, Samu Costa could be back but captain Antonio Raillo and Antonio Sanchez have been dealing with knocks.
With Madrid looking in such fine form once more, it’s difficult to bet against them teeing up a third consecutive massive Clasico Super Cup final at the weekend.
