Raul Asencio made his first-team debut for Real Madrid last week in the win over CA Osasuna in La Liga, standing out with a stellar display which included a terrific assist for Jude Bellingham’s goal.
The 21-year-old La Fabrica product has been impressive for Castilla for a while now and made a mark when he got an opportunity with the senior setup under Carlo Ancelotti.
Following his breakthrough performance, Real Madrid are all set to promote Raul Asencio permanently to the first team, reports MARCA.
The 21-year-old Spaniard had already turned down several clubs, including those owned by the City Football Group, in the summer to continue in the Spanish capital club.

Now, as per the aforementioned report, more clubs have taken an interest in Asencio and were planning a move for the Spaniard for the upcoming January transfer window.
Indeed, Girona and Celta Vigo, among others in La Liga and a top club in Portugal were quietly interested in signing Asencio in January and are quite disheartened by his sudden explosion as a move for him is no longer viable.
This is because Real Madrid have decided to block Asencio’s exit in January and as mentioned above, promote him permanently to the senior setup.
Asencio’s contract with Los Blancos runs until the summer of 2026 and reports in Spain suggest that a renewal might also be on the cards for the young defender.
With no Eder Militao and David Alaba, the 21-year-old will likely continue to partner Antonio Rudiger in the defensive line and hope to make the most of his chances.
