Endrick arrived at Real Madrid from Palmeiras just over a year ago, and at the time was an absolute hero for club and country. In fact, he was seen as the next big striker in world football.
One year later, however, the player has barely featured for Los Blancos and has been pegged back in his international career as well owing to a lack of minutes for his club.
Carlo Ancelotti’s preference for experience saw Endrick move down his pecking order and the youngster managed just three league starts for the team in the league. Unsurprisingly, he grew increasingly frustrated by his situation.
In light of his need for regular minutes, Endrick was not opposed to leaving Real Madrid this summer on loan to further his development despite the managerial change.
As relayed in a report by Tiempo de Juego, the Brazilian was set to join La Liga rivals Real Sociedad on loan.

An agreement with the Basque side over his transfer was all but done and the deal was almost written in stone. At the very last minute, however, it fell apart and is thus now off the table.
The loan deal was discussed and it was finalised during Real Madrid’s Club World Cup campaign and was set to be a year-long move to Real Sociedad.
At that moment when it was days away from completion, Endrick suffered a relapse in his injury which cancelled the operation.
Whether the development was fortunate or unfortunate will only be known in the course of time, and Real Madrid will hope Endrick shown his quality once he is back from injury this season.
After all, he is focused on returning by September and is working hard even on vacation to make the most of the coming season.
