Real Madrid have now finalised their plan for Endrick’s short-term future, and the details underline just how carefully the club is managing one of their most valuable young assets.
A recent report from COPE has shed light on a key clause included in the Brazilian forward’s loan agreement with Olympique Lyonnais.
As things stand, Endrick’s move is no longer open to interpretation. The Brazilian will join Lyon on loan until the end of the season, a decision agreed by all parties involved.
The agreement includes a specific condition that obliges Endrick to play 25 matches during his time in France, a clause designed to guarantee consistent minutes and competitive rhythm.
From Real Madrid’s perspective, the decision makes sense when viewed through the lens of squad planning.
Since the beginning of the season, the attacking structure has evolved in a way that leaves little space for Endrick to develop properly.
Gonzalo Garcia’s breakout performances changed the internal hierarchy, convincing the coaching staff that the academy product deserves more opportunities.

In contrast, Endrick is viewed differently. While his goal-scoring instinct is unquestionable, Alonso considers him a more mobile and dynamic attacker rather than a pure penalty-box striker like Gonzalo.
For Endrick, the move ticks several important boxes, as Lyon offer European competition, a competitive league, and a guaranteed starting role.
One of his immediate objectives is to strengthen his case for Brazil’s next World Cup squad, and regular football is essential for that ambition.
The loan also serves Real Madrid’s long-term interests. Having already invested more than €60 million in the Endrick deal, the club is determined to protect that investment.
Allowing him to stagnate on the bench would risk slowing his progress and reducing his market and sporting value.
By keeping him active, Madrid reaffirm their belief in his future while avoiding unnecessary depreciation.
