Thiago Pitarch’s Real Madrid breakout, highlighted by his display against City while wearing 45, has thrust his international future into focus. According to El Periódico Mediterráneo, Morocco are closely tracking the midfielder despite his Spain youth involvement.

Long on scouting radars, he blends dynamism with vision and composure on big stages. Madrid signed him after spells at Getafe, Atlético and Leganés, and he has climbed from Juvenil B to a first team starting role.

The RFEF called him into Spain’s under-20s for the World Cup in Chile last September and October. He started as Paco Gallardo’s side lost to Colombia in the quarter-finals, having turned 18 in August.

By then Morocco had already made overtures, part of a sustained drive to recruit from the diaspora. Brahim accepted a flagship role with their seniors, while others have followed, though Lamine Yamal chose Spain.

Pitarch qualifies through his father’s grandfather, who was born in Alhucemas, leaving him eligible for dual nationality.

Morocco also offered him a place at that under-20 World Cup, but he chose Spain. Their interest persists, competition is fierce in his Madrid position, and an under-21 call from David Gordo for 2027 qualifying would help secure his future with Spain. His family’s view will be decisive, and he is being well supported amid recent overexposure.
