It is quite evident that not every player at FC Barcelona has a guaranteed future in store for them at the club. Instead, several players may even have to end up joining other teams to ensure that they get more playing time than they currently do. Such is the level of competition at Barcelona this season and typically as well, and it is not meant for everyone.

Certain players in the team are currently playing as rotational support players for Hansi Flick’s team, and it is understandable that they would ideally like to strive for more. That is why, especially when it comes to such players, any team that comes with important guarantees is seen as an option that must at least be considered.

For Eric Garcia, that could also end up becoming a real possibility quite soon it seems. According to the latest update provided by Fichajes on his future, La Liga side Real Sociedad is now reportedly keen on signing the 23-year-old Barcelona defender and have him on their agenda.

In the report, it is stated that Real Sociedad consider Garcia to be a player that would bring in both experience as well as versatility to the team. For La Real, he could end up playing as a defender primarily while also having the ability to be deployed as a defensive midfielder if the team ever has such a requirement.

Moreover, with his contract at Barcelona set to expire in 2026, his acquisition could be relatively cheap as well. This also attracts Real Sociedad, as they could get a solid and versatile player for a rather good price tag, and Barcelona would not exactly be against the idea of potentially selling him.

In turn, it would give the Catalan giants potentially just enough revenue to address other acquisitions or ease the burden on their already restricted salary space. For now, Garcia remains a rotational option for Hansi Flick and the fact that he already has experience in teams like Girona and Manchester City only adds to the reasons as to why La Real have their eye on him.
