Real Sociedad fan arrested in Gipuzkoa over alleged intimidation of Atlético supporters’ motorhome | OneFootball

A Real Sociedad supporter has been arrested in Gipuzkoa on suspicion of dangerous driving. The case stems from an incident on the A-66 near Almendralejo, Badajoz, on Sunday, when three vans allegedly tried to force a motorhome carrying Atlético Madrid fans off the road, a day after the Copa del Rey final.

According to AS, the detainee is a 31-year-old from Lazkao who was held in San Sebastián after a video of the episode spread on social media, showing three black vans boxing in the moving motorhome.

At the time, all four vehicles were returning from Seville, where the final had been played the previous day, won by Real Sociedad against Atlético de Madrid.

He is under investigation as the suspected perpetrator of a road safety offence of reckless driving. He allegedly carried out intimidating manoeuvres that forced the victims to slow because of an imminent risk of collision, also endangering his own passengers.

The incident was captured by another fan and the footage went viral. The circulation of the video enabled the Extremadura Traffic Group’s accident unit, GIAT, to identify the vehicle. Officers in Gipuzkoa then made the arrest in the city through the provincial judicial police.
