Real Sociedad to start pre-season with 12 Sanse call-ups as Matarazzo plugs gaps | OneFootball

Real Sociedad will begin pre-season with up to 12 Sanse players drafted in by head coach Pellegrino Matarazzo to cover international absences.

According to Diario Vasco, the American coach will lean on the B team in the early weeks as numerous first-team players remain on international duty.

Those called are Fraga, Kita, Beitia, Balda, Lebarbier, Ibai Aguirre, Mikel Rodríguez, Carbonell, Dani Díaz, Ochieng, Marchal and Carrera. The group comprises one goalkeeper, three defenders, four midfielders and four forwards.

Balda will not train fully, as he continues to recover from a serious spleen trauma sustained in a match last season. The full-back will work individually until cleared to rejoin the group.

Players report on Saturday for initial physical and medical testing. The first open session for the public is scheduled for Sunday at Zubieta from 11:00. The squad then have eight consecutive sessions before their first rest day on Sunday 12 July.
