Recopa 2026: Flamengo earn $900,000 as runners-up

Flamengo will bank $900,000 in prize money, about R$ 4.6 million, despite missing out on the Recopa title. According to Globo.com, champions Lanús receive $1.8 million, roughly R$ 9.2 million.

Lanús won the first leg 1-0, leaving Flamengo with a deficit to overturn.

The second leg at the Maracanã finished 2-2 after the Argentines snatched a late equaliser in extra time, confirming the trophy for Lanús.

In 2025, Flamengo led Brazilian football for prize earnings, totalling R$ 375.74 million, boosted by their Libertadores and Brasileirão titles.

Attention now turns to the Campeonato Carioca semi-finals. Flamengo face Madureira on Monday, 02, at 21:00 at the Maracanã, for a place in the final. The first meeting ended 3-0 to the Gávea side.
